We are currently looking for a full-time Accountant to join the tax department in our Gulfport, MS office! Previous tax experience, though preferred, is not necessary and no CPA designation required.

POSITION: Senior Auditor

ABOUT THE JOB:
Senior Auditor – Gulfport, MS, United States, Full-Time.
TMH is seeking an experienced auditor to join our Gulfport team. This individual will work on a wide range of accounting and auditing projects encompassing clients across a diverse set of industries, including commercial/small business, construction, not-for-profit, governmental, healthcare, and employee benefit plans. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to work in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Working under moderate supervision to complete assigned areas of engagement in an efficient and timely manner.
• Working on more complicated/riskier areas of audit engagements.
• Preparing financial statements with full disclosures.
• Working toward obtaining a CPA license, if not already completed.
• Assisting with training first-year staff accountants, primarily on an on-the-job basis.
• Serving as a role model in demonstrating TMH’s Core Values
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
• Minimum two years of current and/or recent audit experience in public accounting.
• BA/BS degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Applied working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and accounting procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to meet challenging client requirements.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Entry-level candidates working toward their CPA license will also be considered.

POSITION: Tax Accountant, Hattiesburg, MS
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
One of the main functions of TMH is tax preparation for clients of all sizes. Staff members in this position work on a team of accountants who prepare tax returns and other tax-related reporting for TMH clients. The TMH staff maintains a high standard of excellence not only in accounting proficiency but in personal characteristics, as well. TMH accountants care about people and are highly organized and disciplined particularly when it comes to taking care of clients. This position holds that expectation. This position requires creativity and innovation, and the ability to meet deadlines without negatively impacting other team members is critical. Applicants for this position must have unwavering resolve when it comes to achieving goals. POSITION: Office Administrator / Front Desk (Gulfport Office)
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The office admin / front desk associate is the first point of contact for clients and as such, it is important to make a good impression on both new and returning clients. A high level of poise, tact, and diplomacy is vital to ensure the success of the office. Although specific functions are required throughout the day to day operations, the primary responsibilities are to direct and/or assist with a variety of general office activities, which include but are not limited to, answering the main phone, greeting clients, managing mail going in and out of the office, ordering and stocking office supplies, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Greet and direct clients to appropriate personnel in a helpful and respectful fashion. Maintain employee and department directories and direct visitors to the appropriate TMH personnel when necessary.
2. Answer all incoming phone calls in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Determine the purpose of the call and forward to the appropriate personnel or department.
3. Manage all incoming mail by opening, dating, and distributing mail to correct personnel. May be responsible for retrieving mail from the post office as well. Manage all outgoing mail by timely delivering all outgoing mail to the post office.
4. Update company calendar when necessary, and may be responsible for organizing company function as the need arises.
5. Process and post all cash receipts, credit card payments, checks, and ACH payments.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, includes Outlook, Word, and Excel).
7. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care.
8. Ability to diffuse sensitive and/or difficult situations.
9. Errands as necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license and a functioning vehicle.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school degree or GED equivalent is required. Bookkeeping skills not necessary but preferred. Experience not necessary.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong written and verbal communication; Proficient in Microsoft Office; Customer focused; Strong organizational skills.
